Kombucha & Conversation – Mamaste032

Today on the podcast I welcome back Annette Gerlitz Appel. Annette was on episode 10 and if you have not heard that episode go check it out. Annette shares how to give advice respectfully, how to talk about tough topics like sex and death and how to approach all of this through the lens of age appropriateness.

I met Annette because she facilitates a baby support group which we were part of when Eleanor was a baby. She is someone’s whose advice I respect and I seek out often. More and more I have found myself giving out advice, maybe because I started a podcast about being a mom, but it’s a powerful and scary thing. I invited Anette over the give me advice on giving advice.

Lauren Gilger – Mamaste031

Today on the podcast I share a conversation I had with Lauren Gilger. She is “an award-winning multimedia journalist whose work has impacted communities large and small, exposing injustices and giving a voice to the voiceless and marginalized” and all around badass. I met Lauren through a friend and have always followed her on social media and been in awe of what she does. We talk about her impressive career, not feeling our age and how she is able to take a fair view when reporting.

Check out all of Lauren’s work on her website www.laurengilger.com

I am so excited to see where we both go and know we will meet back in the field…

“Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.” –Rumi
